Overview
Overnight - Peer Support Specialist - Crisis Stabilization Services (CSS) at North Range Behavioral Health. Schedule : Sunday – Thursday, 11 : 00 pm – 7 : 30 am.
CSS delivers comprehensive care for individuals facing mental health challenges and substance use disorders, including acute treatment, withdrawal management, counseling, case management, and discharge planning. The role focuses on peer-to-peer support, leveraging personal experience to engage clients in recovery and resiliency goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Use personal experience to model recovery and teach coping techniques; provide hope and guidance through appropriate self-disclosure, role modeling, and coaching.
- Collaborate with therapists to coordinate services and support goals of the treatment plan; assess client needs and recommend services as needed.
- Coordinate and facilitate access to services and resources from internal and external providers; identify client needs and barriers to recovery.
- Assist clients in identifying barriers to recovery, recognizing warning signs, and cultivating positive behaviors to prevent relapse or future crises.
- Support clients in improving well-being and quality of life by coaching in behavioral skills, problem solving, and daily living activities; provide a listening ear as needed.
- Educate about and model medication monitoring and communication with medical and mental health providers; assist in developing wellness or recovery plans.
- Provide support to clients and / or family members; advocate for clients in appropriate forums (e.g., school systems, nursing homes, family contexts).
- Document progress notes and other required records following agency standards.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; demonstrated reading, writing, and speaking skills, or equivalent experience.Bilingual (English / Spanish) skills highly desired.Experience
Personal experience with mental illness, substance use issues, or related challenges; must demonstrate working on a personal recovery / resiliency plan for at least one year.Valid Driver's License and driving record that meets agency insurability for transporting clients / program participants.Sensitivity to individual needs and respect for independence.Ability to participate in peer-to-peer training as required.Additional Eligibility Requirements
