About this Position
GENERAL SUMMARY :
Responsible for the preparation of hot and cold food items for the cafeteria and Child Care Center. Responsible for food preparation for special events, including catering for on-campus and off-campus functions.
Required Qualifications
Education :
- High School / GED required; Associate degree in culinary field preferred.
Experience :
Proven history of demonstrating ethical and professional behavior.Three years of food preparation and serving experience, preferably in a supervisory role.Must have experience in the operation of kitchen equipment, ovens, fryers, etc.Previous customer service experience.Certifications, Registrations, and / or Licenses :
Valid Oklahoma driver’s license must be maintained if the position necessitates the use of a personal or university vehicle to perform university business.Must maintain a Food Handler’s permit if required.Skills, Proficiencies, and / or Knowledge :
Skills and Abilities :
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and provide quick and courteous service.Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.Must be customer-service oriented.Must maintain a neat appearance and possess a pleasant personality.Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.Must be able to multi-task and assist in any area necessary.Ability to resolve problems.
Communication Skills :
Ability to communicate effectively with students, co-workers and other campus personnel.Ability to communicate with a positive attitude.Excellent listening skills and customer responsiveness are essential.Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively recognize and resolve conflict.Preferred Qualifications
Associate's degree in culinary field.
