Job Description
Position Summary
Respond to guest repair requests and attend to maintenance issues with minimal supervision. Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication. Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines. Carry equipment such as tools and radios. Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment. Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
Communicate daily activities and issues to other shifts using approved communication programs. Read blueprints and electrical schematics related to plumbing and HVAC systems. Demonstrate advanced engineering skills and mechanical ability. Proficiency in categories such as air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, or building management is required.
Safely perform complex repairs on physical property, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with standards and codes. Troubleshoot and repair various equipment including pumps, motors, plumbing, electrical devices, HVAC, and more. Use Lockout / Tagout procedures prior to maintenance.
Utilize engineering computer programs for preventative maintenance, energy management, and system troubleshooting. Train and mentor other engineers. Perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities, including rounds and readings.
Follow safety policies, report hazards, complete safety training, and store flammable materials properly. Maintain a professional appearance and protect company assets. Provide excellent guest service, address guest needs, and maintain positive relationships with team members.
Perform physical tasks such as lifting objects up to 50 pounds, climbing stairs and ladders, reaching overhead and below knees, and using computers for work-related information.
Preferred Qualifications
High school diploma or G.E.D., vocational or technical training. Extensive experience in general maintenance, electrical, refrigeration, and inventory management. Minimum 2 years of hotel engineering / maintenance experience. No supervisory experience required.
Valid Driver's License. Universal CFC Certification and applicable state / federal licenses.
