PICU RN Job Details – Portland, OR Location : Portland, Oregon 97239 (Oregon nursing jobs) Facility : Level I Pediatric Trauma Center Unit : Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) – 20 beds Contract Duration : 13-week travel nursing contract (Start : 11 / 18 / 2025 – End : 2 / 17 / 2026) Shift : 3x12 Hour Nights (19 : 00 – 07 : 30) Hours per Week : 36 Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $2050 - $2200 Employment Type : Travel Registered Nurse Weekend Requirement : Yes Floating : Required to NICU and Pediatric Units Charting System : EPIC Orientation : 24 hours PICU Registered Nurse Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent PICU nursing experience (CVPICU and post-op heart experience required) Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Oregon or compact state; pending license accepted if application submitted) BLS and PALS certifications required; NRP preferred Proficiency with Epic charting system Ability to float to NICU and Pediatric Units Professional references required First-time travel nurses accepted with CVPICU experience PICU RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill neonatal, pediatric, and young adult patients in the PICU Perform and assist with advanced bedside procedures : central / arterial line placement, lumbar puncture, intubations / extubations, CRRT, ECMO cannulations / decannulations, chest exploration, and emergent operative procedures Utilize advanced medical equipment : Hamilton G5 Ventilators, DirectLink ICP Monitors, Artic Sun Targeted Temperature Management, Baxter Prismaflex Machines Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including intensivists, respiratory therapists, nutritionists, and social workers Float to NICU and Pediatric Units as needed to provide clinical support Maintain accurate patient documentation using EPIC electronic health records Participate in patient and family education and support initiatives Discover rewarding travel nursing jobs in Portland, Oregon, and experience the best of the Pacific Northwest while advancing your pediatric nursing career.
