Job Summary

Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, pumps, conveyors, belts, fans, air conditioners, etc. | Examines mechanical equipment to diagnose malfunctions | Adjusts, cleans and lubricates parts of mechanical devices as necessary | Requisitions replacement parts and equipment | Oversees contractors at supervisory / management level. Schedule is 3 : 30pm-1 : 50am - 4 10-hour shift Monday thru Thursday.

    Essential Functions

    \n

  • Maintains manufacturing equipment including conveyors, belts, engines, pumps, fans, etc. using hand and power tools.

    • \n

  • Tests, troubleshoots, and repairs equipment, as necessary.

    • \n

  • Determines and performs required maintenance (cleaning, lubricating, aligning / adjusting parts, calibrating, etc.).

    • \n

  • May also conduct periodic safety and maintenance inspections to evaluate equipment for replacement and identify wear and damage.

    • \n \n Required Qualifications

  • \n Required education and experience : Attending a Vocational / Technical School or internal training program OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education & Experience or Skillset; No prior experience needed

    • Preferred Qualifications

    \n

  • \n Preferred education and experience : Vocational / Technical Training Degree

    • \n

  • \n Discipline / Major : Technical training preferred

    • \n

  • \n Knowledge, skills & abilities : Calibration. Mechanical Troubleshooting. Pneumatic Equipment. Preventive Maintenance. Reading Blueprints / Diagrams. Safety Inspections. Safety Policies and Procedures. Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Spare Parts Management. Equipment Repairs. Mechanical Maintenance. Mechanical Systems. Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

    Physical Requirements

    \n

  • Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.

    • \n

  • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.

    • \n

  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.

    • \n

  • May need to stand for long periods of time.

    • \n

  • Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and / or operate machinery.

    • \n

  • May be requested to work a different shift.

    • \n

  • This position is Safety-Sensitive.

    Travel Requirements

    No or very little travel likely.
