Overview
The Public Relations Specialist (PRS) is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with local media reporters, editors and producers as well as other local PIOs. Responds to media inquiries and proactively pitches healthcare content to the media. The PRS implements public relations strategies established by department leadership. Writes press releases and PSAs for health system, and collaborates with community organizations on joint releases for promotional partnerships. Acts as media liaison and spokesperson for feature articles or special events. Monitors news media coverage for relevant news stories and maintains retrieval system for both broadcast and print. Writes content for social media in collaboration with digital marketing team. The PRS coordinates system press conferences, VIP Patient Communications, and crisis media under the direction of leadership. Manages online reputation management platform and online review solicitation, monitoring and response. Posts internal communications on system Intranet. Facilitates third party interview or video requests by outside organizations PRS handles internal photography for events as needed. This position reports to the PR & Digital Communications Manager.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, PR, Marketing or Mass Communications - Required
