Warehouse Lead - Night Shift (Austell, GA)
The responsibility of the Warehouse Team Lead is to ensure all operations / processes are performed accurately and efficiently. In the absence of the Warehouse Supervisor, the Warehouse Lead will act with the authority of the supervisor. The Warehouse Lead will foster a teamwork environment in support of the company's financial and operational goals.
Essential Functions :
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
- Checks with operations management on a daily basis to determine shift priorities / tasks.
- Assigns work and work zones to pickers, loaders, and forklift operators, monitoring their actions throughout the schedule.
- Maintains awareness of schedule targets (work content and "drop dead" times) and progress, making adjustments to staffing where and when necessary to meet the financial and operational objectives.
- Serves as the primary trainer of full-time and temporary employees, mentoring and coaching to achieve and maintain departmental performance standards and ensure adherence to documented operational policies and procedures.
- Performs as a "working lead" and is required to perform all assigned tasks and achieve minimum performance standards.
- Provides timely and effective communication to management for any performance or operational issues.
- Conducts appropriate safety and equipment training and inspections, communicating findings to management.
- Arrives to work, meetings, appointments, and other work-related functions on time and as scheduled.
- Meets agreed-upon goals and objectives effectively and in a timely manner.
Other Functions :
Must demonstrate ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.All other duties as assigned by management.Working Conditions : Warehouse environment; may be subjected to loud noise, temperature and weather extremes. Occasional overtime may be required as per the business needs.
Equipment / Machinery Used : Office equipment (to include computer, fax, photocopier, calculator, and telephone), RF handheld equipment, pallet jacks, forklifts, cherry picker, reach truck, voice pick system, and time clock.
Physical Requirements : Manual dexterity, visual acuity, reaching, bending, standing, sitting, and frequent lifting and moving up to 50 pounds.
Minimum Requirements :
High School Diploma or GED.Ability to obtain forklift and motorized jack pallet certification within one month of hire; certified forklift operator preferred.Demonstrated computer skills.Demonstrated effective communication skills.
