The Med / Surg Float Pool consists of Registered Nurses that work throughout the hospital on six different medical / surgical units : Cardiac, Oncology / GYN, Ortho / Neuro, Medicine / Renal, General Surgery and ICU. The Med / Surg Float Pool is currently hiring a part-time Registered Nurse.

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the planning, implementing and evaluation of care for a given patient population with the established standards and practices of Crouse Hospital. This process is enacted through direct clinical practice, management of patient care and general professional duties.

Pay Range : $39.00 - $50.00 / hour

Schedule : 3 : 00pm - 11 : 30pm with rotating every 3rd weekend & no holidays

Registered Nurse (RN) Position Responsibilities :

• Provides professional judgment and knowledge of roles as it pertains to the Crouse Hospital Professional Nursing Practice Model.
• Carries out duties and responsibilities per legal requirements under the Registered Nurse Scope of Practice, with emphasis on leading a culture of safe care.
• Responsible for all activities requiring assessment, planning, diagnosing, evaluating, judgment, problem-solving, creating and implementing the plan of care.
• Provides appropriate education to patients and families to promote health, facilitate rehabilitation and maintain wellness. Evaluates effectiveness and revises as appropriate.
• Monitors and evaluates patient responses to treatment / plan of care during hospital stay.
• Utilizes and engages in evidence based practice to deliver quality patient care.
• Demonstrates characteristics and skills that promote critical thinking in clinical problem solving situations.
