Summary

The Court Reporter for the 371st Court performs senior professional level duties on a day-to-day basis to achieve the short- and long-term goals of the work group.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Documents, maintains, and preserves required records and statistics as it pertains to departmental operations.
  • Ensures compliance with any or all applicable laws, statutes, and regulations; policies, and may update staff or work group on applicable changes.
  • Recommends and / or develops departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintains and updates files.
  • Manages special projects as directed.
  • Stenographically records testimony of all court proceedings as requested by attorney(s) and / or the Court.
  • Performs all other related duties involved in the operation of the business as assigned or required.

Minimum Requirements

  • TO APPLY, must have an Associate’s degree + three (3) full-time years of related work experience. -OR-
  • TO APPLY, must have a High School Diploma or GED + five (5) full-time years of related work experience.
  • TO APPLY, must have and maintain a current certification by the State of Texas as a certified shorthand reporter (CSR).
  • Physical Demands And Work Environment & Other Requirements

    While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, walk, climb, stoop, lift, push and pull.
