Job Duties :

Contributes to the development of marketing strategy and oversees implementation of marketing plans, projects, and campaigns. May supervise personnel within a work unit marketing team.

The Marketing Manager will oversee marketing plans and develop campaigns in collaboration with the Division of Continuing Education and Workforce Training, and Marketing and University Communications Office. The Manager will support a range of marketing and operational projects. The division serves participants of all ages through courses, workshops, conferences, events, services and credit and non-credit programs throughout the State of Wisconsin and beyond. Targeted audiences include health and human services practitioners, assisted living facilities, caregivers, educators, government agencies, business professionals, among others. As a liaison to these key areas, the Marketing Manager will lead a variety of marketing and operational projects, requiring both strategic and tactical marketing skills as well as a strong working knowledge of traditional and new marketing channels.

The Marketing Manager is a member of the Office of Marketing and University Communication and reports directly to the Marketing Associate Director assigned to Continuing Education and Workforce Training, with a dotted line to the Executive Officer of the Division of Continuing Education and Workforce Training.

The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and implementing annual marketing plans and strategies for the internal clients assigned, working with both an internal team and external agency partners.

The Office of Marketing and University Communication brings UW-Green Bay’s story to life in creative and compelling ways, honoring brand identity and standards, and at the same time, assuring marketing and communications effectively speak to variying target audiences. Utilizing a strategic mix of traditional and emerging marketing and communication channels, the team utilizes an integrated approach that considers both marketing and communication strategies, while collaborating with University and community subject matter experts to highlight UW-Green Bay students, faculty, staff, alumni and academic programs that are on the rise and making a difference in our region.

Key Job Responsibilities :

• Provides management and coordination to ensure that marketing initiatives meet deadlines and stay within budget
• Collects, analyzes, prepares, and summarizes data and trends, disseminating information to appropriate entities according to established policies and procedures
• Serves as a main point of contact and unit liaison for individuals and groups; assesses, responds to, and consults with clients about their marketing requests providing creative recommendations and solutions
• Maintains marketing account relationships, identifies opportunities to promote marketing products and services to best meet account needs and align with unit objectives and strategic initiatives

This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)

Required Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Strategic Marketing or Communication, Advertising, Journalism, Public Relations or related communications or business field at time of application.

Working knowledge of desktop hardware and standard business software programs (e.g. word processing, spreadsheets, database) and the Internet.

Preferred Qualifications :

Five to seven years of experience as a marketing manager, media buyer, brand manager or leader in an integrated communications department / environment

Marketing or brand management experience in higher education, corporate or an agency environment

Conditions of Appointment :

A criminal conviction investigation and pre-work screen examination will be conducted on the finalist(s). A six-month probationary period is required for this position.
