This role involves operating various hand tools associated with collecting leaves from the side of the street; you will also walk behind a leaf machine swinging a suction hose for an extended period of time. Other street maintenance related duties may be assigned.
On site interviews will be conducted during a job fair being held at 2550 Operations Way on Friday September 12, 2025, and Saturday September 13, 2025, from 9 : 00 a.m. 2 : 00 p.m. Candidates are not required to attend job fair to apply for positions.
Joining our Transportation Maintenance Division will provide an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in the maintenance of critical infrastructure such as sidewalks, curb and gutter, asphalt, medians, and storm drains. As a member of our 218 person staff, you will contribute to maintenance of 1,130 miles of streets and sidewalks; the upkeep of over 33,000 curb ramps; and the protection of 3.2 million linear feet of stormwater pipes connecting more than 32,000 drainage inlets. The Special Operations Unit is responsible for sweeping and flushing streets, removing nuisance abatements, graffiti removal, leaf collection, cleaning up illegal dumping and spills, managing traffic control and cleanup for events downtown.
This position is temporary but could lead to permanent employment if positions are available. Employment will begin in November 2025 and end in January or February of 2026.

Typical Qualifications
Education and Experience : High School Diploma or GED and at least three months experience operating dump trucks or other heavy equipment OR An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.
