Senior Electrical Engineer - Data Centers

Base pay range : $130,000.00 / yr - $170,000.00 / yr

SSOE is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer - Data Centers who will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of data centers and high-performance AI factories. In this role, you will work closely with in-house engineering and architecture teams to ensure that projects meet and exceed industry standards from scope development to commissioning and start-up. SSOE has decades of experience in power-intensive, high-tech, and mission-critical environments throughout North America.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Expertise : Act as an Electrical Subject Matter Expert (SME) on data center projects, make independent engineering decisions, craft innovative design solutions, and prepare studies and technical specifications.
  • Client Engagement : Provide expert advisory services, participate in meetings, represent the firm, and align project strategies.
  • Technical Project Leadership : Lead planning, development, and coordination of medium to large engineering projects; collaborate with disciplines and project managers; perform design reviews and maintain high standards; manage quality procedures.
  • Developing Our Teams : Provide guidance, mentoring, and coaching to less experienced staff.
  • Travel required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an accredited university program.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license with ability to register in additional states.
  • At least 12 years of experience in electrical engineering facilities design, with data center facilities design required.
  • Experience with DC distribution systems at 400VDC, 800VDC, or 1500VDC.
  • Knowledge of NEC and IEC standards and other industry codes.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical design, power distribution, and backup power systems.
  • Experience with Revit.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills; proven client relationship management.
  • Valid driver's license.
