Overview

Responsibilities
- Produce, create, and improve drinks and assemble the requested drinks into the required glassware as part of the bar process before passing the order along to the guests.
- Follow and ensure compliance with food safety handling policies and maintain an organized and hygienic work area, including personal hygiene procedures.
- Be thoroughly familiar with Lawry's professional and friendly service including : menu items, cash controls, suggestive selling techniques, appearance standards and guest interaction.
- Keep the bar well stocked and set up at the beginning of each shift with fresh-cut garnishes, pre-mixes, liquors, beers, wines, straws, beverage napkins, coasters and other supplies.
- Count and verify funds of bar bank at the beginning of shift and report any discrepancies to management; complete a blind checkout at the end of the shift with a manager and turn in all receipts.
- Greet and accommodate guests, work with the Dining Room Server to deliver quality dining and entertainment experiences, and follow Lawry's standard operating procedures.
- Prepare drinks using proper bartending techniques, recipes and glassware; manage cash and credit card transactions and collect payment from guests.
- Offer to transfer bar tabs to the dining room for guests awaiting a table; thank guests as they depart and invite them to return.
- Avoid serving intoxicated guests and stop service in a professional manner as needed.
- Maintain company property and assets, uphold food handling and sanitation standards, and practice safe work habits including knife handling.
- Keep the bar area organized and clean, ensure bar equipment is in working order, stock glassware and bottles, and work efficiently to expedite guest orders.
- Follow state liquor laws and ServSafe Alcohol policies, including proper ID checking and responsible beverage service.
- Assist co-workers and other departments as needed to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Communicate effectively in English with co-workers and guests for orders, requests, reservations and instructions.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Lawry's Restaurants, including family history, locations, service and diner benefits; assist guests with menu items to support wine, meal and dessert selections using informed recommendations.
- Demonstrate teamwork and cooperation with co-workers, management, vendors and suppliers; show competency in POS and TMX computer systems and basic math calculations.
- Wear a clean uniform and appropriate footwear and be prepared to work scheduled shifts; be willing to cover off-peak hours as needed.
- Attend mandatory meetings and training sessions; report damaged fixtures or unsafe conditions to the Manager on duty promptly.
Position Qualifications
Confident, energetic, professional appearance with a friendly and helpful demeanor.Satisfactory physical and mental health to perform job duties and work with the public in compliance with health and safety regulations.Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations; ability to stand and walk for up to eight hours; lift up to 30 lbs and exert up to 50 lbs of force; withstand repetitive motions.Knowledge of wines, vintages, wine pairings, handling and storage, and use of bottle opener; knowledge of beers, spirits, and cocktails.Availability to work all scheduled shifts, including weekends and holidays; able to multi-task and communicate effectively in English; good math and cash handling skills; able to wear required uniform.Legal age to serve alcohol beverages.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Experience
At least one year of previous experience as a Bartender in a high-end dining establishment is required. Must be able to read scales.Licenses / Certifications
Current Local / State Food Handler's Training Certifications as required.Current Local / State Alcohol Beverage Service Training Certifications as required.Education : High school diploma or GED preferred. Some college or culinary education beneficial.
Hourly Rate : $16.50 / hour
