Amplify New Hampshire is the state’s centralized cross‑issue, progressive communications hub with an annual operating budget of $1 million to $1.5 million. Amplify’s mission is to advance a broad, data‑driven progressive agenda through issue advocacy, electoral campaigns, and values‑based narratives.

This role requires a unique set of skills, attributes, and experience. We are looking for a seasoned communications and campaign strategist—someone who understands power‑building, dynamics of a diverse coalition, and values‑based narrative change. The ideal candidate will be collaborative, a big picture thinker, a supportive manager, and able to execute thoughtfully but quickly and efficiently.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Amplify’s Executive Director will manage and expand a robust, centralized, cross‑issue communications hub to build progressive power. The ideal candidate will :

  • Create an ambitious and focused communications strategy and work plan to accomplish the above goals.
  • Build strong relationships with committed partners and allies.
  • Represent the organization in front of funders to help build the capacity to implement high‑impact campaigns and programs.
  • Engage a strong group of board members, advisors, and staff, ensuring each member understands their role and is set up to succeed.
  • Be familiar with 501(c)(4) and 501(c)(3) funding structures and compliance‑related issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and execute multi‑tactical communications plans that are consistent with the shared values of the ecosystem and rooted in data and research.
  • Cultivate a culture of innovation and experimentation to advance the organization’s work.
  • Work collaboratively with a range of partners to ensure narrative and message development and dissemination.
  • Develop partnerships with members of communities that are directly affected.
  • Communications & Partnerships

  • Build relationships and partnerships with allies across the state to create a robust progressive communications infrastructure.
  • Work closely with partners to build collaborative, strategic, and effective communications campaigns.
  • Support and provide training to hub partners on compelling and innovative strategies and approaches to achieve shared goals.
  • Management & Operations

  • Oversee day‑to‑day operations, including budget development and tracking, financial systems, and compliance.
  • Hire, supervise, and support staff.
  • Write and maintain compliance with grants and other funding opportunities.
  • Work with and report to the organization’s volunteer board of directors regularly to ensure organizational success.
  • QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5‑7 years of relevant work experience, including management and supervisory roles, fundraising, finance, and board engagement.
  • Deep understanding of social and political change and progressive movements backed by direct experience with grassroots and / or electoral efforts.
  • Knowledge of digital communications and social media technology and practices.
  • Excellent communicator and writer able to reach diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to work in a dynamic environment and build strong partnerships.
  • Strategic, systems thinker and creative problem solver.
  • Collaborative leadership style with engaging and confident interpersonal style.
  • Relevant experience on campaign work in New Hampshire.
  • Competitive annual salary, dependent on experience. Range $105,000 – $130,000. Competitive benefits include four weeks of pre‑approved vacation, paid leave, medical insurance, and a retirement plan option.

    Amplify NH is an independent 501(c)(4) social welfare organization incorporated in New Hampshire. It also maintains a 501(c)(3) affiliate, the Amplify Education Fund, which the Executive Director will manage. Immediate responsibilities for the Education Fund include overseeing the development of 501(c)(3)-compliant educational initiatives that inform and engage the public on legislative actions.
