Pay Ranges
- Technician I Pay Range : $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
- Technician II Pay Range : $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
- Technician III Pay Range : $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
- Technician IV Pay Range : $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
- Technician V Pay Range : $29.00 - $34.00 per hour
Position Overview
The Broadband Installation Technician connects the telecommunication services in customers' homes and offices. This position tests and troubleshoots to ensure televisions, computers, and wireless devices are connected while maintaining well-organized cables and cords. The Broadband Installation Technician is on time, communicates proactively, is prepared for the task at hand, and also provides respectful, patient, and thorough explanations of the services installed to ensure a best-in-class customer experience. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Install telecommunication services in customers' homes and offices; test and troubleshoot equipment and connections to ensure working properlyThoroughly and patiently provide education to customers on the services installed and answer all customer questions prior to leaving the premisesArrive on time for scheduled appointments, and communicate with customers proactively to advise when you will arrive and ensure they will be onsiteUtilize test equipment to ensure signal strength and connectionProcess work orders prior to heading out, ensuring you have all necessary equipment and toolsReview work orders and work performed prior to leaving the premises to ensure work is complete and of the highest qualityClean and maintain the interior and exterior of company vehicles, communicating any performance or maintenance issues to the Manager and Fleet DirectorAdhere to driving and safety laws and company policies at all timesOther projects or duties as assignedRequired Skills / Abilities
High school diploma or equivalent required1+ year of previous broadband installation experience preferredStrong computer, network, and electronics skills and knowledge; Ability to utilize applications on a tablet deviceExcellent communication skills are required; ability to clearly, professionally, and effectively communicate technical information to a diverse audienceStrong customer service orientationPositive, solutions-oriented attitude with strong analytical, and problem-solving skills; ability to organize and prioritize tasks to completion in a fast-paced environment while ensuring meticulous attention to detail and accuracyCurrent valid driver's license and ability to remain insurable under the vehicle liability policyThe selection process includes a comprehensive background investigationThis is a safety-sensitive position and employees in this position are subject to Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) and Alcohol testingAbility to work some evenings and / or weekends preferredPhysical Requirements
