Finance Manager

The Finance Manager plays a key role in technical accounting, financial reporting, and process improvement. This position supports global finance teams and partners cross-functionally to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and corporate accounting policies. Primary responsibilities include :
- Assisting with the accounting research process, including staying current on changes to accounting pronouncements and guidance under U.S. GAAP, interpreting new requirements, and preparing position papers on complex accounting issues
- Preparing the annual goodwill impairment test
- Aligning with internal partners such as sales, procurement, operations, and regional / corporate finance to identify, research, and conclude on technical accounting issues
- Identifying, driving, and being accountable for areas of improvement within current accounting processes
- Assisting with providing training to global finance staff on the implementation of accounting policies published by corporate finance
- Leading business and accounting-related projects focused on improving the effectiveness and efficiency of business and accounting processes and related management controls
- Leading and assisting in opening balance sheet procedures related to acquired businesses
- Leading accounting processes related to share-based compensation plans, including coordination with HR and tax, reviewing month-end journal entries, and preparing related disclosures
- Administering the global lease accounting software, liaising with global record-to-report teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of lease information; reviewing lease accounting for acquired businesses and key controls
- Preparing and reviewing other month-end or quarter-end close activities related to joint venture accounting, legal fees, environmental matters, asset retirement obligations, etc.
- Preparing the quarterly accounting disclosure checklist in connection with SEC filings
- Preparing the quarterly ROIC calculation for purposes of measuring and recording expense for the long-term incentive program
- Assisting in preparing footnotes and sections of MD&A for quarterly and annual SEC filings and reviewing SEC filings for internal consistency
- Assisting with other finance and accounting projects as deemed necessary
Minimum requirements include :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related fieldAt least 6 years of relevant work experienceAlternatively, Master's degree with 4 years of relevant experienceStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reportingExperience with technical accounting and SEC reportingPreferred requirements include :
Master's degree in Accounting or FinanceCPA or CMA certificationExperience with global lease accounting systemsStrong analytical and project management skillsAbility to communicate complex accounting concepts clearlyPay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location. The salary for this role is $105,000 - $136,000. In addition to your salary, H.B.
