Shift : Nights | 4x12-Hour (19 : 00–07 : 00) | EOW required

Contract Length : 13 weeks

Guaranteed Hours : 48

Facility Type : Children’s Hospital – Level I Trauma

Unit Assignment : Primarily NICU, may float to PICU and Pediatrics

Position Summary

The Registered Respiratory Therapist provides comprehensive respiratory care to neonatal, pediatric, and critical care patients in a high-acuity setting. The therapist will primarily work in Labor & Delivery and NICU, with the ability to float between NICU, PICU, and Pediatric units as needed.

Requirements

Experience : Minimum 18 months recent NICU or PICU experience required

Trauma Level I pediatric hospital experience within the last year required

Licensure : Indiana RRT License – must be in hand prior to start

NBRC RRT credential required

Certifications : BLS, ACLS – Required

NRP – Required for L&D (can be obtained post-offer)

PALS – Preferred

Education : CoARC-accredited Respiratory Therapy program & regionally accredited by CHEA

Skills & Equipment

Ventilators : Servo I, Servo U, Hamilton G5

Therapies : CPAP / BiPAP, HFNC, nitric oxide, aerosol and bronchodilator therapies

Procedures : Intubation / extubation, trach management, airway suctioning, ABG interpretation

Patient Populations : Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics

Additional Details

Floating : Required between NICU, PICU, and PEDS units; may float to IU Health North Hospital

Scheduling : 3x12 or 4x12 shifts, night shift, weekends required

Vaccinations : COVID-19 : required

Flu : Required (medical / religious exemptions only)

Holiday Requirement : Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
