We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) primarily focused on Microsoft SQL Server environments, both on-premises and Azure cloud . The ideal candidate will manage, optimize, and secure our SQL Server databases to ensure high availability and performance. Knowledge of Azure Lakehouse / Databricks is a plus but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Administer and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases across on-prem and Azure environments.
  • Monitor database performance, conduct tuning, and troubleshoot issues proactively.
  • Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Ensure database security and compliance with company policies.
  • Support database deployments, upgrades, and migrations.
  • Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to optimize database-related processes.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts.
  • Maintain database documentation and operational procedures.
  • Optional : Support Vertica database administration and assist with related data processes.
  • Participate in capacity planning and performance tuning efforts.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator focused on Microsoft SQL Server (on-prem and Azure).
  • Strong understanding of database architecture, indexing, partitioning, and query optimization.
  • Experience with backup / restore, high availability (AlwaysOn, clustering), and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Familiarity with Azure SQL Database and Azure infrastructure.
  • Solid scripting skills (T-SQL, PowerShell, or similar).
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders.
  • Preferred (Optional) Skills :

  • Experience with OneLake / Databricks buildout on Azure.
  • Working knowledge with Unity catalog / Unified catalog.
  • Eligibility Requirements :

  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to work in person at least four days per week.
  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation
  • Must be willing to work additional hours as needed to complete deadline driven projects.
  • The salary range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $130,000 and $170,000 / year; however, base salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and / or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
