General Purpose : Supports and helps create positive physical and behavioral health outcomes for newly arriving refugees. The Medical Interpreter / Care Coordinator (MI / CC) will be able to interpret and translate complex medical information to patients who speak a foreign language, preferably Pashto & Dari. To ensure the complete understanding of medical information between medical staff and patients. To translate a wide range of medical information that includes medical conditions, treatment options, follow-up appointment details, billing, and insurance. They also accompany patients during office visits and provide information. The MI / CC will also be sure to coordinate the delivery of services to patients; including collaborating with care team staff to ensure patient’s screening appointments and facilitates with external partnerships and community organizations under the direction of the Refugee Health Program Manager

The role involves sitting, standing, and bending for extended periods. Mental tasks include comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, synthesizing, communicating, instructing, and using strong interpersonal skills. The physical demands do not include heavy lifting or extensive physical exertion but may require handling and feeling. The position also requires near visual acuity for specific tasks and effective communication through talking and hearing.

Work Schedule
Monday-Friday, 8 hours / day
This position will work 100% on-site in the clinic.
We offer a competitive hourly range of $22.00 - $28.00 depending on your experience.
This range reflects STRIDE’s good faith estimate of potential compensation at the time of posting. The final salary for the selected candidate will be determined based on several factors, including experience, education, budget, internal equity, specialty, and training.
