Build the tools that build everything else
Join us to fabricate, repair, and refine the precision dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and hand tools that keep production moving.
Primary responsibilities
- Interpret blueprints, sketches, models, and descriptive notes to select materials and determine the machines and processes required.
- Compute dimensions, plan layouts, and sequence operations for efficient, accurate builds.
- Layout work : measure, mark, and scribe stock prior to machining.
- Set up and operate manual machine tools (lathes, mills, grinders); confirm part conformance at each step.
- Lift and position parts using proper ergonomics or a hoist; secure workpieces with vises, V-blocks, and angle plates.
- Verify features and clearances using micrometers, dial indicators, gauge blocks, and thickness gauges.
- Perform heat-treating on tools or components as needed.
- Optional tasks : connect wiring and hydraulic lines for assemblies incorporating electrical / hydraulic elements.
- Evaluate existing tooling and suggest improvements to function or construction.
- From broad requirements, derive specifications for specialty tools and create sketches or simple drawings.
- Collaborate closely with your supervisor and peers to align on priorities and share progress.
- Inspect and measure parts through final acceptance.
- Calibrate and maintain your personal tools to preserve accuracy.
- CNC experience is beneficial and welcomed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Use CAD to design parts or generate prints.Qualifications
4–10 years via trade school, vocational programs, apprenticeship, and / or hands-on work experience.Expertise in GD strong blueprint literacy.Equipment and process troubleshooting skills.CAD proficiency; understanding of G-code and M-code.Manual machining capability; tool / die / mold setup and repair background.Equipment in the shop
Manual grinder.CNC lathes (2–4 axis) including Mazak, Haas, Okuma, and Takisawa.
