Responsibilities Work in a hospital setting as part of the PCU Float Resource Pool Float between all Progressive Care (PCU) and Medical-Surgical (MS) units based on hospital needs Staffing office may reassign every 4 hours to meet changing patient care requirements PCU patient ratios are 5 : 1; MS patient ratios are 6-7 : 1 Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts (18 : 45-7 : 15); option for 4x12 hour shifts by request Uses Epic for EMR; Epic experience is required Travelers must be willing to float frequently and adapt to hospital-wide assignments Must provide all requested time off (RTO) up front; Christmas RTO cannot be approved Required to work at least one holiday per 13-week assignment, and two holidays during winter holiday periods Candidates who reside within 100 miles of the facility are not eligible; travelers 50-99.9 miles away may take one 13-week assignment without extension eligibility; those 0-49.9 miles away may take one 13-week assignment at a reduced rate Previous employees must be gone at least one year before returning as a traveler; assignment duration limits apply for repeat travelers per the facility’s separation policy Orientation modules include up to 5 hours for general orientation and 2 hours for Epic, which may be done pre-start or during orientation Requirements Active RN license for VA or compact state required Current BLS and ACLS certifications required Previous experience in PCU and MS settings is required Epic charting experience required Must be comfortable floating to all PCU and MS units within the hospital Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-624638.
