Pay : $22 per hour - $27 per hour

Summary : The HR Specialist provides comprehensive administrative support to the Human Resources department, with a primary focus on assisting and serving as a backup for payroll processing. This role ensures the accuracy and timeliness of payroll operations, supports HR initiatives, and contributes to a positive employee experience by maintaining confidentiality, efficiency, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities :

Payroll Support & Backup

  • Support day-to-day HR functions with an emphasis on assisting with processing weekly payroll for all employees in coordination with the HR / Payroll Manager.
  • Serve as payroll backup during absences or peak periods, ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance with company policies and labor regulations.
  • Maintain employee payroll records, including verifying timesheets, time and attendance data, calculating commissions, deductions, and benefits.
  • Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve employee payroll inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Assist with year-end processes, including W-2 and tax filings.

HR Administration

  • HR Hotline Help Desk lead.
  • Maintain and update employee personnel files, HRIS data, and other HR records.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, HR communications, and policy dissemination.

    • General Office & Administrative Support

  • Provide general administrative support to the HR team (correspondence, filing, scanning, data entry, etc.).
  • Assist with HR projects, training coordination, and meeting logistics.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Assist with open enrollment, answer benefit questions, and process ACA reports.
  • Handle unemployment claims, track charges, and represent the firm as needed.
  • Interpret HR and Payroll processes and policies with guidance from, as well as advise field managers regularly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    • Qualifications :

  • Associates degree in HR, Business Management, or related field preferred
  • Minimum two years’ experience in HR, payroll or customer service.
  • Strong analytical skills; familiarity with HCM, time and attendance, preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Adaptable and passionate about delivering excellent service to both staff and management
  • Effective multitasking and time management abilities
