Job Description
We are developing an advanced artificial-intelligence platform that helps utilities and industries optimize their power generation assets. We are seeking a Lead Engineer for this AI & Industrial Data Platform who will architect and implement the next-generation data and analytics layer connecting power-plant operations with intelligent, real-time efficiency and maintenance insights. This is a hands-on technical role that bridges industrial control systems (SCADA / PLC / IoT) with cloud-based data science and AI / ML pipelines.
seeking a Lead Electrical / Controls Engineer For AI & Industrial Data Platform to become an integral part of our team! You will assist in the research, design and development of this AI platform.
Responsibilities :
Design and develop the AI data platform to ingest and process real-time sensor data from power plants and industrial assets (boilers, turbines, compressors, pumps, etc.).
Build data ingestion and edge connectivity layers using OPC-UA, Modbus, MQTT, and historian APIs (e.g., OSIsoft PI).
Architect and deploy time-series databases, data lakes, and feature stores for continuous analytics.
Collaborate with process engineers to develop AI / ML models for :
Plant efficiency optimization (heat rate, fuel-to-power ratio)
Predictive maintenance and anomaly detection
Load forecasting and renewable integration
Develop APIs and visualization dashboards (using Python, FastAPI, or similar frameworks) for operations and management teams.
Implement MLOps pipelines for training, validation, deployment, and continuous improvement of AI models.
Ensure data security, reliability, and compliance (industrial cybersecurity best practices, OT / IT segregation).
Lead and mentor a small team of data scientists, IoT engineers, and software developers.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering / Computer Science, or related field.
8+ years of experience in industrial automation, power plant controls and operations, energy analytics, or AI / ML system development.
Deep understanding of power plant systems (thermal, combined cycle, or renewable).
Strong hands-on experience with :
Industrial protocols : OPC-UA, Modbus, MQTT, DNP3
IoT & edge frameworks : Node-RED, Azure IoT Edge, AWS IoT Greengrass, or Ignition SCADA scripting
Time-series data & databases : InfluxDB, TimescaleDB, PI System, or historian data
AI / ML frameworks : TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, XGBoost
Programming : Python (must), SQL, optional C / C++ for device interfaces
Cloud & MLOps : AWS, Azure, or GCP; Docker, Kubernetes, MLflow, Airflow
Proven track record in deploying AI models into production in industrial or energy environments.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills with cross-functional technical and operations teams.
