Dr. Hung Luu lab is looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow with a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, Genetics Epidemiology, Systems Biology, or a related field. Strong programming skills in R, Python, and familiarity with computational environments (e.g., Linux, high-performance computing clusters). Experience in analyzing single-cell transcriptomic data (e.g., Seurat, Scanpy, Monocle, Cell Ranger). Familiarity with spatial transcriptomics technologies and analysis tools (e.g., Space Ranger, Giotto, Squidpy, STUtility). Experience with multi-omics data integration. Knowledge of statistical modeling, machine learning, and network analysis is a plus. Proven publication record and strong communication skills.

At Houston Methodist, the Postdoctoral Fellow position is responsible for performing basic research duties under the supervision / direction of a Physician and / or Principal Investigator.

Essential Functions

• Assists the physician in maintaining the functionality and operations of the Principal Investigator's (PI) laboratory.
• Promotes a positive work environment and leads the team to be dynamic and a focused work unit that actively helps one other to achieve optimal department results.
• Develops research methods and performs research activities.
• Documents research results and writes reports of results for presentation and / or publication in professional journals and other publications.
• Follows all safety rules while on the job. Reports accidents promptly and corrects minor safety hazards.
