Strategic WMD Planner

The Ascendancy Group is seeking an experienced Strategic WMD Planner to support USCENTCOM's Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) and WMD-Terrorism (WMD-T) planning efforts. This role requires specialized expertise in WMD-related planning, joint operations, and interagency coordination. You'll contribute to high-impact strategic initiatives that shape global counter-WMD policy and operations. This position is contingent upon contract award. A Top Secret / SCI Clearance is required.
Roles and responsibilities include :
- Support all phases of the Joint Operational Planning Process (JOPP), including : mission analysis, COA development, COA analysis (wargaming), COA comparison and decision.
- Develop and refine plans and orders based on COA decisions, commander's intent, and strategic guidance.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for USCENTCOM in support of USSOCOM-led CWMD and WMD-T planning efforts, including deterrence and global counterterrorism operations.
- Coordinate and analyze CWMD and CWMD-T plans with the Joint Staff, OSD, other Combatant Commands, and relevant interagency partners.
- Participate in the CWMD and WMD-T community of interest, offering recommendations to improve plans, policies, and strategies.
- Support the development of joint system concepts and technical approaches to meet strategic requirements. Conduct systems analysis, trade studies, and technical optimizations related to WMD operations.
- Prepare and deliver complex operational and technical documentation, reviews, and presentations on WMD-related planning.
- Manage and coordinate FOIA and Mandatory Declassification Review (MDR) requests in accordance with legal standards and USCENTCOM directives. Conduct thorough file searches and advise CCJ5 on safeguarding and dissemination of sensitive information.
Position requirements include :
Graduate of one of the following programs : Joint Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Planning Course (JCPC), CWMD Senior Staff Planners Course, or equivalent CWMD-focused program.Minimum 5 years of WMD-related planning experience.Minimum 3 years of experience at a Geographic or Functional Combatant Command HQ or Service Component HQ supporting a Geographic Combatant Command.Strong understanding of CWMD and WMD-T planning, deterrence strategy, and interagency coordination.Ability to conduct strategic systems analysis and develop high-level operational designs.Excellent communication and briefing skills.Preferred skills include :
