Job Description
The Parts Manager aims to achieve a satisfactory profit on dealer capital invested in parts inventory. Responsibilities include proper purchasing procedures, inventory control, staff management, security, pricing, merchandising, display, and advertising.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Forecasts goals and objectives for the department and strives to meet them.
- Hires, trains, motivates, counsels, and monitors staff performance.
- Prepares and manages an annual operating budget.
- Maintains balanced inventory aligned with the needs of service, body shop, wholesale, and retail customers.
- Establishes pricing parameters to generate profit while maintaining customer loyalty.
- Sets inventory levels for maximum turnover and ensures inventory turns.
- Monitors inventory to minimize obsolescence.
- Tags parts correctly to ensure full credit recovery from the factory.
- Sets policies for special parts orders.
- Analyzes sales, expenses, and inventory monthly to meet profit goals.
- Manages outside sales efforts, including telemarketing and promotions.
- Utilizes manufacturer co-op advertising opportunities.
- Develops customer service guidelines and handles complaints promptly.
- Ensures proper accounting of dealership purchases and assists in collections.
- Supervises custodial staff and enforces safety policies, including forklift training and OSHA compliance.
- Stays informed of relevant federal, state, and local regulations affecting parts sales.
- Maintains professional appearance and adheres to safety policies.
Qualifications
Authorized to work in the USA.Ability to perform duties safely.Pass pre-employment tests including background, MVR, drug, credit, and driver license checks.High school diploma or equivalent.Ability to read and understand instructions.At least one year of supervisory experience.Experience in an automotive parts department.Excellent communication and managerial skills.Some sales experience.It's time to advance your career.
