Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the instructional team in designing, implementing, and evaluating a curriculum that incorporates the Alabama Computer Science and Digital Literacy standards.
• Develop, implement, and assess engaging learning activities aligned with these standards.
• Assist students and staff in locating, interpreting, and utilizing information across various formats, promoting digital literacy.
• Create instructional resources aligned with educational goals and student needs.
• Match students with literature that caters to their interests and developmental levels.
• Organize and assess in-service education programs incorporating digital literacy and computer science principles.
• Encourage the application of information literacy, digital literacy, and basic computer science skills among students and staff.
• Utilize global information resources to meet diverse user needs, demonstrating the potential of computer science in accessing worldwide data.
• Ensure compliance with copyright laws and confidentiality norms, safeguarding users' intellectual freedom.
• Design, budget, implement, maintain, and evaluate a comprehensive library media program including digital literacy and computer science components.
• Oversee the operation of the library media center and promote collection usage, both physical and digital.
