Position Summary :

Southeast New Mexico College (SENMC) is seeking applications for the position of Instructor or Assistant Professor of English. This full-time faculty position will teach courses in developmental English, composition, professional and technical communication, writing in the humanities, and other courses as assigned. Will be assigned to teach on a 9-month contract of 15 credit hours per semester.

In addition, the following duties and responsibilities apply :

• Must be willing to teach weekends and evenings as assigned.
• Must teach effectively to a diverse student body.
• Must participate in professional development activities.
• Must serve on at least two committees each year for the benefit of Southeast New Mexico College and maintaining shared governance.
• Must be willing to develop and teach online courses.
• Must perform meaningful course and program level assessment as required.
• Must have a responsive communication style with faculty, staff, students, administrators, and other stakeholders.
• Must be willing to live in Carlsbad, New Mexico, or the surrounding area close enough to commute.
