COMMERCIAL CONCRETE ESTIMATOR — AEX Construction, LLC (San Antonio, TX)

Job Summary :
The Commercial Concrete Estimator will prepare detailed estimates and proposals for commercial foundations, flatwork, paving, tilt-wall, and structural concrete projects. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and has a deep understanding of construction methods, materials, and takeoff software.
Key Responsibilities :
Review plans, specifications, addenda, and RFPs for scope and requirements.Perform detailed quantity takeoffs using digital tools (Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar).Develop accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, trucking, and subcontractors.Prepare comprehensive and competitive bid proposals for private and public work.Communicate with vendors and suppliers to obtain current pricing.Coordinate with Project Managers and Superintendents for constructability feedback and historical cost data.Track bid results, maintain estimate database, and follow up on submitted bids.Support budgeting, value engineering, and design-assist efforts with clients.Participate in pre-bid meetings, site walks, and client presentations as needed.Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all estimating and cost data.Qualifications :
Minimum 3–5 years of experience estimating commercial concrete projects.Strong knowledge of formwork, rebar, concrete mix designs, and placement methods.Proficiency with Bluebeam, Excel, and takeoff software (PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar).Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and geotechnical reports.Excellent math, analytical, and organizational skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Construction management or engineering degree preferred (not required).Must be self-motivated, deadline-driven, and team-oriented.Benefits :
