Our Information and Communication Technology Group (ICT), in our Hamilton, NJ office, is seeking a Senior Technology Systems Consultant with systems design experience with a focus on one or more of the following trades : Telecom / IT / Audio Visual / Security. This role will support the engineering of systems for a variety of projects while working closely with clients, client reps, architects, and MEP engineers in creating designs for spaces including Critical Facilities, Corporate Interiors, Sports & Entertainment, Healthcare Facilities, Airports, and educational facilities throughout the country. The typical schedule is in-office Monday to Thursday for 9 hours and remote on Friday for 4 hours, along with social events.
Responsibilities
- Support design efforts on a wide range of projects and work closely with senior and supervising consultants to perform calculations and layout highly technical spaces.
- Progress from basic design work to more complex projects under the guidance of a technical team.
- Provide trade-specific system design layout (CAD / BIM), calculations (via appropriate software), and other design services including coordination with other trades (architectural and engineering) under supervision.
- Develop basic to medium-complex designs under direction of senior team members; create specifications, system narratives, and system layouts for various project sizes.
- Conduct field inspections to determine existing conditions and coordinate new work; assist in due diligence, feasibility, gap analysis, and related technical reports.
- Establish system applications, design, and operational parameters under the direction of senior team members.
- Gain a basic understanding of network connectivity, LAN / WAN fundamentals; basic WiFi infrastructure concepts, WAPs, controllers.
- Participate in QA / QC processes for own work and the work of others; assist in project scheduling, manpower planning, and budgets.
- Perform construction administration and field investigation tasks, including field inspections and detailed inspection reports.
- Assist in processing RFIs, Change Orders, Bulletins, and Addenda; maintain drawing organization per company standards.
- Cross-train on multidisciplinary designs and support production of drawings, calculations, research, reports, analysis, and specifications.
- Interact with internal design teams and external clients and consultants, coordinating with other disciplines and the entire design team.
- Other duties as assigned by Management.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Engineering, Science or Technical discipline or equivalent relevant work experience.7–10 years of audiovisual, telecom, IT, or security design experience, with Healthcare experience preferred.Proficiency in written and verbal communication and organizational skills.Knowledge of active network systems and structured cabling design.Basic working knowledge of Wi-Fi network and telephony concepts, heat maps, etc.Proficiency in AutoCAD / Revit preferred.Certification such as P.E., ICT certification (PSP, CPP, CTS, CTS-D, RCDD, CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, PMP, etc.) required.Benefits
