Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-acuity MS / Tele transplant and hepatology unit with a CO or compact license and rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

Work in a 36-bed surgical MS / Tele unit specializing in solid organ transplant, thoracic surgery, and hepatology patients

Patient population includes organ transplant recipients and donors, liver and kidney transplant patients, and thoracic surgery cases

Staff ratios are 2 : 1 or 3 : 1 for the most acute transplant patients, and 4 : 1-5 : 1 for other patients, with the possibility of flexing up as needed

Required to work rotating 12-hour day and night shifts and at least 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week period

Floating required to similar units and may include sister facilities as needed

Uses Epic for charting and EMR documentation

Specializes in caring for solid organ transplant and thoracic surgery patients, including direct admissions from the OR

Works as part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering optimal care throughout the transplant continuum

Must be comfortable delivering care in a high-acuity surgical environment

Scrub color is navy

First-time travelers are accepted

No on-call required

Up to 10 days of RTO is allowed per 13-week contract but is restricted during specified blackout periods

Local candidates are accepted but are subject to a different bill rate if living within 75 miles

Holiday coverage may be required

No blocked scheduling requests allowed

Pre-employment modules must be completed as part of onboarding

Candidates previously employed by the health system or its affiliates within the past two years may not be considered

Requirements

Active CO or compact RN license required

Current AHA BLS certification required

Minimum of 2 years of acute care RN experience in a high-acuity setting required

BSN preferred

Experience with flexible staffing ratios required
