We are seeking a part time Physician Assistant 3 days a week to join our team! As a Physician Assistant, you will be examining patients, collecting patient medical history, and making diagnoses on minor and major issues. You will also be reading diagnostic tests and reports, interpreting data, taking the time with each patient to explain their test results and medical diagnoses, and prescribing therapy or medication. The ideal candidate has an excellent bedside manner, experience charting in a medical environment, and has strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
This position involves providing direct patient care in a busy orthopedic clinic settingThe Orthopedic PA will work collaboratively with a supervising orthopedic surgeon to deliver the high quality of care to patients with acute and chronic musculoskeletal issuesOpportunity to assist in surgical proceduresConduct comprehensive and problem focused histories and physical examinationsOrder and interpret diagnostic tests such as x-rays, MRI, and CT scansProvide reductions, splinting, wound care, and bed side procedures when indicatedJoint injections, casting, splinting, brace fitting, osteoporosis injectionsMaintain accurate and detailed medical records, documenting all patients interactions, treatments, and procedures according to hospital policyQualifications
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant programCertified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)Licensed to practice as a PA in CaliforniaBLS and DEA Certification required
