Position Overview As a Deputy Sheriff in Carver County, you'll enforce federal, state, and local laws; respond to emergencies; and proactively protect our communities. You'll have the opportunity to work in suburban neighborhoods, rural townships, and everything in between giving you the unique chance to develop a broad range of experience.

Starting Pay : $43.31 - $52.14 / hour, Depending on Qualifications (Plus additional incentives and differentials noted below potential to make up to an additional $5000 annually!)

• Education Bonus : +$0.40 / hour with a Bachelor's Degree
• Weekend Differential : +$1.00 / hour
• Night Shift Differential : +$1.25 / hour
• Investigator Pay Differential : +$2.50 / hour
• Corporal Pay Differential : +$1.50 / hour
• Field Training Officer (FTO) Pay : +3 hours of premium pay per day for regular shift
• Uniform Allowance : $1000 allowance for uniform / equipment replacement after the first year of initial issuance

Scored Examination Process

All applications will be screened for minimum qualifications, scored and ranked. The highest ranked candidates meeting minimum qualifications will be recommended for the scored oral examinations (interviews). Top candidates successfully passing the oral interview(s) will be sent to the background process. Conditional offers will be made to those candidates successfully passing the background, with the number of offers being proportionate to the number of vacancies. Final selection for the position will include successful completion of oral interview(s), reference checks, CJIS background investigation, psychological evaluation, and pre-placement physical.
