Specialty Account Manager, Auvelity (Hickory, NC)

Axsome Therapeutics, Inc. is a biopharmaceutical company focused on CNS conditions. Our portfolio includes FDA-approved treatments for major depressive disorder, narcolepsy, obstructive sleep apnea, migraine, and multiple late-stage programs.

About This Role

The Specialty Account Manager (SAM) will execute commercial activities for assigned territories, build relationships with healthcare professionals, and drive the successful promotion of AUVELITY for major depressive disorder and future indications. This field-based role requires engaging customers in clinic or hospital settings and leveraging digital channels.

Job Responsibilities

  • Engage customers through virtual and live interactions.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive territory business plan to achieve quarterly and annual targets.
  • Promote the product within approved labeling, ethically and in compliance with legal and regulatory guidelines.
  • Build strong relationships by understanding customer needs.
  • Serve as a resource for payer policies and processes such as eligibility, prior-authorization, and appeals.
  • Maximize marketing resources to increase customer confidence in prescribing Axsome medications.
  • Communicate territory activity timely and accurately to management.
  • Provide feedback to internal teams on market changes and results.
  • Complete all training and administrative duties on time.
  • Manage promotional budget effectively.
  • Collaborate across corporate functions.
  • Attend medical congresses and society meetings as needed.
  • Enable patient access through patient services and savings programs.
  • Travel overnight as required.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 5 years of field customer experience and / or account management, with at least 3 years in Healthcare Professional engagement specific to CNS.
  • Consistent top performance in pharmaceuticals, biotech, or medical sales.
  • Strong preference for psychiatry / CNS experience and launch experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under aggressive timelines in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Comfort with uncertainty and high expectations.
  • Patient support services and strong digital marketing aptitude are a plus.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs, travel, and endure prolonged standing and sitting.
  • Salary & Benefits

    Salary range : $100,000 – $150,000. Axsome offers an annual bonus, significant equity, and a generous benefits package.
