Ferrous Processing and Trading (FPT) is one of North America's premier processors, buyers, and recyclers of scrap metals of all kinds and is a key supplier to the metals industry of North America. FPT is a wholly-owned business of Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opportunity for a Sales Representative at one of our Detroit, MI locations. The Sales Representative is responsible for selling flat-rolled metal products to industrial establishments by performing the following duties.

Summary of Responsibilities

• Makes outbound lead follow-up calls to potential and existing customers by telephone, e-mail and in-person to qualify leads and sell products and services.
• Handles inbound sales lead calls to convert calls into sales.
• Overcomes technical and business objections of prospective customers.
• Emphasizes salable features, quotes prices and credit terms, and prepares sales orders for orders obtained.
• Estimates date of delivery to the customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.
• Builds and maintains customers' relationships.
• Prepares reports of business transactions.
• Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into a computer database.
• Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
• Travels to and attends trade shows.
