CoWorx is looking for a skilled CNC Lathe Machinist to join our production team in Biddeford, ME

This is a temp-to-hire opportunity for a detail-oriented, mechanically skilled professional who thrives in a manufacturing environment.

Shift : 2nd shift (training on 1st shift)

Schedule : Monday – Friday

Responsibilities :

  • Set up and operate CNC lathes to perform precision turning operations.
  • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
  • Load raw materials and verify machine settings prior to operation.
  • Inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
  • Make necessary offsets or adjustments to maintain tight tolerances.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and ensure a clean, safe work area.
  • Document production runs and inspection results accurately.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to resolve production issues.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies.

Desired Background / Skills :

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or machining certification preferred.
  • 2+ years of CNC lathe operation experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of G-code and CNC programming fundamentals.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and using precision measuring tools.
  • Familiarity with materials such as stainless steel, aluminum, and specialty metals.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours or overtime as needed.
