Patient Service Coordinator

SCHEDULE : Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 8-Hour Shifts |

SALARY RANGE : $20-$30 / hour, commensurate with experience

START DATE : October 2025

OPPORTUNITY OVERVIEW :

Client is seeking a compassionate, highly organized, detail-oriented, and patient-focused Patient Services Coordinator to join our growing team. This role serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, handling check-in, payment collection, appointment scheduling, and overall front desk operations. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and the ability to adapt quickly to new environments and workflows.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Greet patients and visitors with professionalism and courtesy, ensuring a positive experience.
  • Check patients in for appointments, verify insurance information, and collect payments.
  • Obtain medical records and authorizations as needed.
  • Schedule patient appointments, coordinate follow-up visits, and conduct patient reminder calls as needed.
  • Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Answer incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and route messages appropriately.
  • Coordinate with clinical staff to optimize scheduling and patient flow.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards.
  • Troubleshoot scheduling and front desk issues, escalating as appropriate.
  • Perform additional administrative duties as assigned, such as scanning, filing, and assisting other departments.
  • QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS :

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Required

    ; Associate's degree or MA certification - Preferred.

  • 1+ year of experience in a healthcare front desk, medical scheduling, or administrative role
  • Required

  • Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new healthcare software quickly.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing priorities.
  • DESIREABLE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Familiarity with oncology or radiation oncology workflows.
  • Familiarity with OncoEMR.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Experience with insurance verification, authorizations, patient billing, and / or medical record collection.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
