THE POSITION
The City of Santa Barbara Sustainability & Resilience Department is seeking a dynamic, passionate, and innovative Community Engagement Supervisor to coordinate and implement the community engagement vision for the department; provide outreach, marketing, and branding support to the three operational divisions (Creeks, Energy & Climate, Environmental Services); strategically lead a team of outreach staff that are subject matter experts for each division while pulling those pieces together in one holistic brand; oversee code enforcement staff and leverage code enforcers as community ambassadors; build and maintain relationships throughout the various stakeholder communities; promote and increase engagement with department initiatives, programs, and projects; facilitate community dialogue; engage with marginalized communities to ensure inclusivity and equity in messaging and outreach; measure and assess effectiveness of engagement efforts; and perform a variety of tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING GUIDELINES
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be : Experience : Three years of experience in developing marketing and outreach materials for a sustainability-related field; demonstrated experience developing outreach campaigns and collateral; experience communicating complex topics in an approachable manner. Education and / or Training : Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Education, Sustainability, or a similar field is desirable. License, Certificate and / or Other Requirements : Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver's license.
