About the Opportunity :

Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager / Controller to lead their accounting and finance operations. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader with strong manufacturing and cost accounting expertise who is looking to step into a role with significant impact and visibility.

Position Overview :

The Manufacturing Accounting Manager / Controller will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting functions, cost analysis, and financial reporting while serving as a strategic business partner to senior leadership. This individual will play a key role in driving accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities :

Direct all accounting operations including AP / AR, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting.

Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process with accuracy and timeliness.

Manage cost accounting, inventory, and variance analysis, providing insights to leadership.

Partner with operations to analyze production costs, monitor efficiencies, and assess capital expenditures.

Establish and maintain internal controls, policies, and compliance with GAAP.

Oversee preparation of budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.

Support external audits and liaise with auditors, banking partners, and regulatory agencies.

Supervise and mentor accounting staff to promote professional development and team success.

Identify opportunities to streamline processes and leverage ERP systems for reporting and analytics.

Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).

7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

Strong background in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.

Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.) and advanced Excel skills.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
