job_description.job_card.job_descriptionProvide focus, leadership, and on-going guidance to all staff, business units, and management. Communicate effectively with appropriate outside entities (WHEDA, AHC, MHFA, IFA, CHFA, MHDC, Syndicators, etc.) and internal Department(s). Assist with processing EIV income discrepancies / retro rent handling, posting monthly HAP through monthly vouchers. Prepare direct adjustments for voucher and management of special claims. Stays up to date with requirements by attending seminars and Section 42 and Section 8 training sessions. Attends any training required for updates regarding all compliance programs. Assists in planning, preparing, and conducting New Hire Orientation, annual quarterly Property Management meetings Provides continued support and training needs to compliance team as well as onsite property staff. Supervises, coaches, directs, trains, and evaluates staff; prepares and conducts employee reviews and completes timecard approvals. Responsible for hiring, training, and retaining qualified staff. Inspired team to the highest level of performance. 3-6 years of experience and understanding of Affordable Housing Programs (HUD / State / City Housing Programs) strongly preferred. COS designation preferred or ability to obtain within 1 year. High School Diploma / GED required; post-secondary education preferred. Knowledge of RealPage or other related Property Management software (Yardi, Lead2Lease, OneSite Accounting, etc.) strongly preferred. Experience with computerized software to include Windows / Excel Reporting. As applicable, you must possess a valid driver's license, reliable vehicle with insurance, and safe DMV driving record. A passion for the mission, vision, and values of Sherman Associates. Office hours may vary due to the specific needs of the portfolio. This position requires frequent property visits and includes regular daytime travel with occasional overnight travel. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Exposed to ambient room temperatures, lighting, and traditional office equipment found in a typical office environment, quiet to moderate noise level Must be able to sit or stand at a desk or other areas of the property throughout the day based on business needs. Must have the ability to move around freely throughout the property and office, and necessity varies from day to day. Must have the ability to provide direction to others throughout the day. Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach other departments of the hotel in a timely manner. Must be able to lift up to 25-30 lbs. occasionally. Sherman Associates is seeking an experience Portfolio Compliance Manager to join our team! The Portfolio Compliance Manager will work closely with Senior Management to evaluate policies, procedures, and programs within the Compliance Department. In addition, this position plays a critical role in inspecting properties and supporting site-based teams to improve compliance for all of Sherman Associates' business units and affiliates. This role will assist in the enforcement of all applicable Affordable Housing programs to support the multiple divisions including Operations and Asset Management departments with complying with industry governed statutes, policies, and regulations by maintaining resident files, supporting site-based team member, and providing support for the department and operations groups.
Pay Range : $80,000 - $90,000 annual salary. Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position; including experience, skills, and knowledge the selected individual is bringing to the specific job.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Administration and Auditing
- Thoroughly reviews all regulatory compliance records in accordance with state, federal, and local regulations.
- Inspect certification packets to ensure accurate completion.
- Program assessments and compliance reviews.
- Partners with onsite teams to support compliance and enforce proper documentation and reporting.
- Completes annual year-end reporting requirements and submits them to reporting agencies and partners.
- Enters resident records and generates essential certifications within Real Page software.
- Maintains resident files in accordance with the applicable housing program regulations and Sherman Associates policies.
- Assists in compliance paperwork for refinancing or lease-ups of properties.
- Ensures compliance with all Fair Housing Laws.
- Prepared compliance reports to present to Regional Director of Compliance and Senior Leadership team.
