The City of Topeka is seeking a skilled SQL Database Administrator to join its Information Technology team. This position plays a critical role in managing and maintaining City's SQL-based database systems, ensuring data integrity, security, and performance across all departments.
What you'll do :
- Manage the full database management lifecycle, including design, implementation, monitoring, backup, and recovery.
- Implement and enforce database security policies in compliance with government standards.
- Lead or support systems integration projects.
- Perform regular audits to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required ORAn Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is acceptable WITH two years of SQL Server database administration experience OR
A High School Diploma or its equivalent is acceptable WITH four years of SQL Server database administration experience.Demonstrated experience with Power BI, SSRS, SAP Crystal Reports, Tableau, Dash, Cognos, or similar reporting tools is required.Microsoft SQL Server certification for RDBMS databases (e.g., MCSA, MCSE) is preferred.Experience in a government or public sector IT environment is preferred.Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., CJIS, NIST, or other governmental security requirements) is preferred.The City of Topeka offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including :
