Bartender

The Brooklyn is a neighborhood wood-fired bar & bistro in the heart of Scott’s Addition set to open at the end of October, and we’re looking to build a passionate, talented team.  Our goal is to create a warm, engaging guest experience with the precision and professionalism of a top-tier cocktail program. This is a rare opportunity to join a small, talented opening team where every seat, pour, and detail matters.

Position Overview

We’re seeking passionate, skilled bartenders who value craft, consistency, and hospitality. Ideal candidates are as comfortable discussing spirits and cocktails as they are maintaining a calm, polished presence in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a curated list of classic cocktails with precision and consistency

Engage guests with genuine hospitality, building rapport and ensuring memorable experiences

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar and prep areas

Handle cash and POS transactions accurately

Assist with bar prep : juicing, batching, garnish production, syrup and infusion prep

Uphold all Virginia ABC and health / safety standards

Collaborate with the kitchen and service team to deliver a seamless dining experience

Participate in ongoing training, tastings, and menu development

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year bartending experience in a cocktail-focused or high-quality restaurant / bar setting

Strong knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits, beer, and wine

Excellent communication and guest engagement skills

Attention to detail and pride in craft

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods

Availability for nights and weekends

Team-oriented attitude with a sense of professionalism and humor
