Scope of Performance : Responsible for assembling and fabricating metal structures and components using various welding techniques. You must be able to read and interpret blueprints, follow safety protocols, and produce clean, structurally sound welds. This includes inspection of welds to ensure quality standards and industry compliance.
Key Responsibilities :
- Operate welding equipment including MIG, TIG, Stick, or Flux-Core
- Strong understanding of welding processes and techniques including SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW
- Ensure the quality and safety of welds utilized in machinery and structure
- Instruct and qualify weld procedures and welders
- Oversee NDT examination operations ensuring proper techniques and procedures are utilized
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to fix complex equipment
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of welds and base materials
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, welding procedures, and applicable codes including AWS
- Review and interpret welding documentation
- Conduct weld testing to specific AWS instructions
- Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation
- Work closely with welding teams, QA / QC personnel, and project managers
- Identify and recommend corrective actions when discrepancies are found
Education and Experience - Required / Preferred :
Certified Welding Inspector CertificationProficient in welding to include MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux-CoreProven experience as a welderStrong attention to detail and manual dexterityAbility to carry and handle items weighing up to 40 poundsClimbing and work in some high places may be requiredExperience in mechanical and equipment installation and planningAbility or receive and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.Must be a U.S. Citizen
