American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Room RN with a current MI license and Level I trauma experience for a night shift contract.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in the Emergency Department of a Level I Trauma Center, which is also a Stroke and Heart Center and has a Pediatric ERNight shifts are 3x12 hours from 19 : 00 to 07 : 30Patient ratios are high, typically 1 : 5-6 but may reach up to 1 : 8Weekend shifts required : work 3 weekends (Fri-Sun) every 4 weeks, with varying number of weekend days per scheduleFloating may be required, including to the Pediatric ERLocal candidates accepted at the same pay rateUses EPIC EMR, experience preferred but training is provided in orientationNo on-call responsibilitiesMust be willing to work 2 of 3 major holidays per contract, with the option to request one holiday offMay request a maximum of 5 days off (RTO) which must be submitted at time of application; no additional RTO can be requested laterCertain dates have blocked time off and cannot be requestedFirst time travelers are accepted for this positionReturning staff are eligible after a 12-month break and HR reviewUnit requires acknowledgment and acceptance of high patient ratiosPre-start paid modules must be completed prior to first shift\n \n Requirements\n
Active Michigan RN license (compact not accepted, must be active by start date)Current certifications : ACLS, BLS by AHA, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, NIH Stroke ScaleMinimum 1.5 years recent ER experience required, 2 years preferredPrevious Level I trauma experience requiredDemonstrated ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmiasProof of high school level education requiredExperience with continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation, and triage is preferredEPIC charting experience preferredAll required certifications must be valid through the contract and may not pend past start\n Benefits\n
