This position is part of KBR's National Security Solutions team, providing high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to customers in the intelligence and national security communities. The work aims to support national security objectives in space and defense domains.

Overview

Hemisphere program seeks experienced Senior Systems Engineers to support the US Space Force mission. Candidates should have extensive background in integrating complex system-of-systems for large-scale space acquisition programs, with deep understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle across requirements development, design, development, test, and transition to operational environments for Space Systems Command (SSC) Combat Power portfolio. Positions are available in El Segundo, CA; Colorado Springs, CO; and Gilbert, AZ.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide systems engineering expertise across the lifecycle from concept development to operations for Space-based, Ground-based space systems, and / or Ground Systems Command & Control services that operate those capabilities.
  • Provide technical oversight of development efforts (design, development, manufacturing, assembly, integration, test, production, and sustainment) using traditional acquisition methods or agile / prototype approaches.
  • Develop operational concepts, requirements, and architectural designs; evolve system architectures; analyze requirements flow down; propose verification methodologies and mitigation approaches.
  • Conduct model-based systems engineering plus modeling, simulation, and analysis as needed.
  • Conduct and maintain configuration management of the program technical baseline.
  • Drive risk management processes and methods to identify and mitigate program risk; analyze risk areas and implement risk reduction measures.

Qualifications Required

  • Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Master's degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, or equivalent technical discipline
  • 10+ years of systems engineering and integration experience in a DoD acquisition program
  • Experience with Space Control mission area—offensive and defensive systems
  • Expertise in space control systems engineering processes, including requirements development, configuration control, and Government Deficiency Review board activities
  • Ability to identify system and program challenges and determine viable mitigation actions
  • Experience in conducting ACAT-like technical design reviews and audits; ability to develop and coordinate ACAT-like program documentation
  • Willingness to be nominated for Special Access Programs

  • Experience in an acquisition development environment
  • Collaborative with multi-disciplined engineering teams
  • Professional certification (e.g., PE, INCOSE, ITEA CTEP, Agile PM / PO)
  • Compensation

  • El Segundo, CA : $150,000.00 - $175,000.00
  • Colorado Springs, CO : $135,000.00 - $160,000.00
  • Gilbert, AZ : $140,000.00 - $165,000.00
  • The offered rate will be based on location, knowledge, skills, abilities and / or experience, clearance level, contract affordability and internal parity.

    Additional Compensation

    KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation as per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may include sign-on bonuses, relocation benefits, short / long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
