Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline : RN Start Date : 10 / 19 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel RN – Medical Surgical Location : Holston Valley Medical Center, 130 W Ravine Rd, Kingsport, TN 37660 Shift : Nights – 3x12-Hour (6 : 30 PM – 7 : 00 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required Job Description : The Med / Surg RN provides care for patients on the acute care surgical and bariatric unit , supporting a variety of post-surgical and medical conditions. This role requires the ability to manage high patient ratios and float to additional units as needed. Key Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to adult surgical and bariatric patients in an acute care setting. Perform assessments, administer medications, and monitor patient responses to treatment. Manage patient assignments with a 1 : 7 nurse-to-patient ratio . Float to units of similar or lower acuity as required by facility needs. Document all patient care accurately in the hospital’s EMR system. Collaborate with physicians, case management, and interdisciplinary teams for care planning and discharge. Educate patients and families on post-surgical care and recovery. Requirements Experience : Minimum 2 years of Med / Surg and Telemetry experience required. Licensure / Certifications : Active RN License (Compact or Tennessee). AHA BLS – required. Other : First-time travelers accepted. Must reside 100 miles from the facility . Must reside 100 miles from the facility.
