Data-Core Systems Inc. is seeking a Business Continuity Specialist to be a part of our Consulting team. He / She will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining business continuity and disaster recovery (BC / DR) plans to ensure toll collection, payment systems, and critical operations remain resilient against disruptions. They work with IT, operations, and leadership to minimize downtime, protect revenues, and maintain compliance.

Key Responsibilities :

Business Continuity Planning

  • Develop and maintain Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP) for tolling systems, payment gateways, and IT infrastructure.
  • Conduct Business Impact Analysis (BIA) to identify critical systems and processes.
  • Define Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs) for toll operations.

Risk Assessment & Preparedness

  • Assess risks such as system outages, cyber threats, power failures, natural disasters, vendor downtime.
  • Recommend redundancy, failover systems, and backup strategies.
  • Ensure cloud-based toll platforms have high-availability and disaster recovery capabilities.

    • Testing & Drills

  • Conduct BCP and DR drills regularly to validate recovery strategies.
  • Document results and continuously improve plans based on findings.
  • Train employees and toll plaza staff on emergency procedures.

    • Incident Response & Crisis Management

  • Serve as a key member of the Incident Response Team (IRT) during disruptions.
  • Coordinate recovery activities between IT, operations, vendors, and government stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively with leadership and customers during crises.

    • Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with government transport regulations, banking / PCI-DSS standards, ISO 22301 (Business Continuity), and ISO 27001 (Information Security).
  • Prepare reports for audits and regulatory bodies.
  • Maintain updated documentation of continuity and recovery strategies.

    • Qualifications & Skills :

  • Proven experience in business continuity, disaster recovery, or risk management.
  • Knowledge of cloud resilience (Azure / AWS DR strategies), IT infrastructure, and payment systems.
  • Familiarity with BCP frameworks (ISO 22301, NIST SP 800-34, ITIL).
  • Strong risk assessment, problem-solving, and incident management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for crisis reporting and stakeholder management.
  • Certifications (preferred) : CBCP (Certified Business Continuity Professional), ISO 22301 Lead Implementer, DRII, ITIL.
