Remote Sound Technicians and Broadcast Technicians - USA

Highbrow is recruiting Sound Technicians and Broadcast Technicians for the Common Lives Project, a research program using wearable GoPro footage to improve AI understanding of technical and creative work.

Role Overview – Sound Technicians

Record your sound mixing, audio setup, or studio routines as part of this short-term paid project.

Responsibilities :

  • Wear a head-mounted GoPro camera to capture daily activities for 5 separate days within a 2-week window
  • Record a minimum of 7 hours per day, with flexibility for breaks and privacy
  • At the end of each day, spend ~2 hours to decide whether to delete, anonymize, or consent to each segment

Participant Requirements :

  • Must be actively engaged in audio production or sound engineering tasks (e.g., mixing, recording, setting up audio equipment)
  • Self-employed or employer consent required
  • Comfortable using a computer for upload / review tasks

    • Highbrow is also recruiting Broadcast Technicians for the Common Lives Project, a research program using wearable GoPro footage to improve AI understanding of technical and operational work. Record your broadcast setup, equipment handling, or studio operations as part of this short-term paid project.

    Responsibilities :

  • Wear a head-mounted GoPro camera to capture daily broadcast-related activities for 5 separate days within a 2-week window
  • Record a minimum of 7 hours per day with flexibility for breaks
  • At the end of each day, spend ~2 hours to upload footage to a secure platform and choose to delete, anonymize, or consent to each segment

    • Participant Requirements :

  • Must be actively engaged in broadcast operations or technical tasks (e.g., managing transmission equipment, operating studio systems, monitoring signals)
  • Self-employed or employer consent required
  • Able to use a computer for uploading and reviewing clips
