WLBT is Mississippi's flagship station and the dominant #1 local TV and digital media in Central Mississippi. We are an NBC affiliate that consistently produces award-winning local news coverage. Jackson, MS is market #98 with a 24-county DMA. It is Mississippi's largest TV market and state capital, offering great museums, several local universities, and is home to the largest medical facilities in the state.
WLBT is looking for a journalist to assist with putting our newscasts on the air. This is an entry-level position, but it is also one that can quickly lead to other opportunities. The right candidate will be a good writer who also has video editing skills. If you are knowledgeable about current events, have a basic understanding of legal and civic processes, and want to get your start in a television newsroom, you are encouraged to apply.
