American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with trauma level 1 and Cerner experience for a night shift opportunity.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is in a hospital-based Emergency Room with trauma level 1 designationCares for adult and pediatric patients, with trauma and burns stabilized before transfer as appropriateAssignment involves floating between main, satellite, and two freestanding ER locations within a 30-minute radiusPatient ratio is 1 : 4 in the ERShifts are 12-hour nights with a requirement for 4 weekend shifts per 4 weeks and coverage of 2 out of 4 major holidaysUnit has 36 acute, 54 subacute beds, and 6 trauma baysUses Cerner EMR; Cerner experience is requiredPhillips cardiac monitors are used, and RNs must be able to read telemetry stripsStandard team includes charge RNs, physician coverage, PCTs, RT 24 / 7, and pharmacist in ER 10 hours / dayProvide comprehensive nursing care in a high-acuity ER setting including trauma, cardiac, and behavioral health patientsMust be comfortable floating mid-shift among multiple ER sites within the health systemParticipate in floor-specific orientation and SIMs Lab testing for clinical skills and policy adherenceNavy scrubs are required for this assignmentThere are 30-40 psychiatric hold patients regularly in the ERReturning employees must not have worked directly for the health system as staff or PRN within the last 12 monthsMust reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for this travel position (verified by driver's license)Holiday coverage includes two out of four major holidays per assignmentCandidate teams must have their own vehicles due to float requirements between sites\n \n Requirements\n
Active AZ or compact RN license required at time of considerationMinimum 2 years of ER experience requiredAt least 1 year of trauma level 1 experience as both traveler and permanent staff, with 8 months+ trauma 1 experience consideredCurrent BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; TNCC and ATCN preferredCerner EMR experience required, with recent usage documented in work historyAbility to pass a dysrhythmia (DYS) exam prior to accepting the position, with 2 attempts permittedMust pass SIMs Lab skills assessment for sterile technique including Foley catheter and port-a-cath insertionCopy of driver's license required for considerationMust have natural hair color and no facial piercings; men must be clean-shaven for fit testingNo first-time travelers will be considered\n Benefits\n
